What is Pilates?

Pilates, pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates, is a mind-body exercise system designed to strengthen the weak and challenge the strong. Pilates (1880-1967) was a German expatriate who first made his mark in England during WWI when he developed a series of exercises and innovative equipment to help prisoners of war regain strength and mobility. When Joseph Pilates immigrated to New York, the local professional dance community discovered that his conditioning techniques helped prevent injury and improve strength while maintaining long, even muscle tone. This sparked a vast following of this method of exercise.

How often should I do Pilates?

To get results Pilates should be practiced a minimum of twice a week. 3 times a week will give you optimum results. The key is consistency. If you consistently attend twice a week for 6 months you will feel and look different. If you attend 3 times a week one week and 1 time a week for 3 weeks, you will not see the same results. Commitment is key.

What is Rossiter?

The Rossiter System is one of the most powerful methods for targeted relief and prevention of structural pain. It is a Unique, Effective, Safe method that provides fast pain relief.

The Rossiter System is a two-person stretching modality that not only alleviates pain but can prevent its occurrence. It offers a series of powerful and effective techniques for addressing structural pain and restriction of movement at its source – the connective tissue system. Your will experience noticeable looseness in your joints with every session.

We all have our aches and pains. Some may be caused by serious injury, but it’s usually the things we do day to day that get us. The Rossiter System is changing lives for the better every day. You could be Next!

What ailments can benefit from Rossiter?

Plantar Fasciitis, carpal tunnel, hip pain, back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, stiffness or tightness in the body, arthritis, TMJ, ankle pain, knee pain, post surgical scar tissue

How many sessions until I get relief from Rossiter?

You will notice a change within one session. Some issues are resolved in just one session. Chronic pain and problems needs a minimum of 3 sessions within a two week period to truly make a change. Pain is not permanent and will reduce significantly with Rossiter. Many clients find they do not need to come in as often once the pain resides. It truly is unique and far more effective than any other technique out there!

What should I wear?

Clothing that can move with you and will not hang too loosely off your body. No denim. Any clothing that allows the instructor to see your body move. Loose shorts are also not good for modesty. Should you plan to wear socks, please choose socks with grips or “sticky” bottoms for grip. No shoes are worn for Pilates or Rossiter.

What is your rescheduling/cancellation policy?

Consistency is key to getting the results you want and time is valuable. Platinum Pilates has a 24 hour cancellation/rescheduling policy for ALL appointments. No-shows, cancellations and ANY reschedules with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full amount. Any rescheduling/cancellations made for Monday must be made PRIOR to 12pm on the Saturday before to avoid a rescheduling/cancellation charge. Tentative appointments are not taken; all appointments made are considered set appointments and will be charged accordingly.

What is your snow or inclement weather policy?

The latest information will be found on the Studio’s Facebook. For Private and Duet Pilates sessions, your instructor will be in touch with you to handle any inclement weather. If you know you will not attend in inclement weather, please follow the cancellation policy and notify your instructor as soon as possible.

What are the Studio hours?
